Northern Skies Winter Pines
Northern Skies, Winter Pines
Today in Western New York:
Hello from beautiful lakeside Angola!
We are currently hunkering down in the midst of a lake effect snowstorm.
Our pine trees are shouldering the weight of 12" of snow and winds whipping up blinding gusts off a howling Lake Erie.
And the weatherman says its going to continue this way for another day or so with temperatures falling near zero.
Still there is so much beauty to appreciate (as long as I am not the one shoveling out the driveway).
"Northern Skies WInter Pines" was inspired by a snowfall just like this one.
I was needing a color boost after many snowed in gray days so I decided to add a colorful sky hinting at the Northern lights.
Its a lovely 8" x 10" acrylic painting and the colors bring a happy vibe to any wall it decorates.

The snowy trees are textural and give a beautiful dimension to this wintery painting.
